Quiz Night 05/09/08

The Adelaide Business Students’ Society quiz night took place on the first Friday of September, 2008. There were six teams in attendance, along with several representatives from KPMG, our sponsor for the event. Held in the cocktail lounge of Electric Light Hotel, a dimly lit room and open fireplace set the ambience for the evening.

Participants began to arrive at half past six, provided with light refreshments and a chance to chat with representatives sent down by our sponsor. By seven, we were ready to start the first round of questions. Once the twenty four questions had been thought through, it was seven thirty, and time for a break. A presentation was given by KPMG, lasting around fifteen minutes. Following questions from students, it was time for the next round.

A bout of eighteen questions saw the conclusion of the quiz. It was then time to draw the door prize – a free ticket to the ‘Vegas Night’ Ball. Ticket A17 was fortunate enough to proffer this prize, following which the quiz of each team was marked. Music resumed, and students were once again able to chat and take advantage of the drink specials negotiated with Electric Light Hotel.

The winner was then announced. Seven thirty-dollar Borders vouchers were awarded to the winning team – a fitting prize for a quiz night, we thought. With the conclusion of the evening’s entertainent, students migrated to the main bar.
