CPA Australia Vegas Night Ball 12/09/08
Posted September 12, 2008 by Ben Harrison in Previous EventsFriday, September 12th 2008 marked the first running of the inaugural ABSS “Vegas Night” Ball, an event which is now a permanent fixture on the annual ABSS calendar.
The Sebel Playford played host to the sold out “Vegas Night”, its ballroom packed out entirely for the evening. All 160 Guests enjoyed a sumptuous 3-course dinner to the smooth jazz tunes of local act “The Love Supreme”, then danced the night away to the R&B and funky house beats of DJ John Rizo. Those who left their dancing shoes at home tried their hand at blackjack, poker and roulette, with mixed results!
Business School students utilized this unique opportunity to mingle, make new friends and solidify existing relationships. There was a various mix of attendees, with many international students from countries including, Singapore, China, India and Nepal, as well as local students of all ages, some studying cross-discipline business degrees with law, health sciences and engineering among others. Such a diverse assortment of guests gave the evening a distinctive, cosmopolitan vibe unique to the Business School, a worldly atmosphere that provided guests with the perfect platform to share their experiences and network. It also went a long way to helping students feel like they were really in Las Vegas!
An exciting and fun-filled night for all in attendance, the ABSS “Vegas Night” Ball cemented its place as a valuable addition to the Adelaide University social calendar. Special thanks to our event sponsor CPA. Next year’s event can’t come soon enough!
